NITA works to secure that there is proper competition in the Danish telecoms market, and that all citizens have access to ICT technologies. NITA is also responsible for the administration of the National Numbering Plan and that the Danish internet domains are administrated in compliance with the Domain Act.

By defining standards for IT Security, initiating information campaigns, offering advice on the secure use of information technology, and helping to secure the supply of telecommunications, NITA works to build that trust.

By means of grafting the policies regarding IT architecture and standards, developing policy targets that will ensure more competition, innovation, and openness in the future NITA plays a part in laying the foundation of the information society of tomorrow.
