HDP concerned over Karachi killings


QUETTA: Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) while terming situation in Karachi very grave has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the killing of innocent people.

It seems as if under a planned conspiracy people were being massacred while law enforcement agencies were observing complete silence over the security to life and property of masses. A Spokesman of the party here Wednesday said that Karachi is a source of livelihood for the people of whole country and people from different walks of life come to this city in search of employment. Several of them have lost their lives owing to law and order situation or become victim of unemployment.

Expressing concern over unserious attitude of Sindh Government, Spokesman said that no party included in the government was seriously analyzing the situation. It seems as if some forces wanted to take steps against the government by making situation tense in Karachi and parties include dint he Sindh government were paving way for it.

Spokesman said if political forces in Karachi and Sindh did not take serious view of the situation and play their role to improve la and order situation, entire country would have to face the result.

KARACHI: Deputy Convener Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee, Dr. Farooq Sattar Monday said a fresh wave of targeted killings has been started to undermine peaceful atmosphere of the city and held the ‘government, particularly, Provincial Home Ministry’ responsible for it.

Dr. Farooq Sattar, flanked by other members of MQM Coordination Committee, said this while addressing a press conference here at MQM headquarters.

“Attempts are being made to disturb the peace of the city of the city since last night and this has resulted in death of two MQM workers so far,” he said.

He said similar to the previous occasions, MQM is once again being linked with the fresh incidents of targeted killings.

Issuing appeal to the people for remaining calm, Dr. Farooq Sattar said the murder case of Dr. Imran Farooq has been forwarded to the court of Allah.

 
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Wednesday termed the ‘unabated killings’ in Karachi as the failure of the government and demanded to bring the issued before the parliament, Geo News reported.

In a statement issued from here, Nawaz expressed grave shock and grief on the killings and declared it the government’s failure.

“The public representatives should be taken into confidence on the issue by taking it up before the parliament,” he argued.

He said the nation want to know as to why the security agencies had become ineffective in Karachi.


HYDERABAD: Hyderabad, Latifabad, Qasimabad, Kotri and Jamshoro remained closed on Friday to mourn targeted killings in Karachi.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Thursday had given the call to observe a mourning day against Karachi mayhem on Friday.

All shops and markets in Hyderabad remained shut, while transport very thin. Police and law enforcers beefed up their patrolling. However, no untoward incident was reported till filing this news.
