Sachin is the director, lead actor, singer and screenplay co-writer all rolled into one. So I guess there was no scope for anyone else to do anything much. Even the idea, I guess could have been his. The first few minutes, even after a jarring opening scene, are indeed a joy to watch. But sadly, that joy is short-lived. The screenplay is shoddy, the plot, though interesting, never moves beyond a point and the end is amateurish.
This movie is for old-timers who have soaked in the brilliance and freshness of the lead pair of that time. A newcomer, will not be able to make much sense, even though the film is replete with scenes from the old hit. In fact, almost three-quarters of the films is ANKHIYON KE JHAROKHON SE. The production house is known for clean, family entertainers and this one does fit that bill. However, there was so much of potential in the idea that it has not moved beyond the discussion table. It looks like the script was hastily gotten and executed with equal haste. What was the need when you have come 33 years later? You had all the time in the world.
The technicians are raw, the lighting is harsh, the sets are gaudy, the styling (clothes) is flashy and even the camera angles don't work. What works are the old shots and the music which is still evergreen.
